Anthony Eden dies at 79 after long illness in England

Former British prime minister Anthony Eden died peacefully in his sleep at his southern England country home after a long illness. He was 79. Eden, famed foreign minister, failed as premier over the Suez crisis in 1956 and was later created Earl of Avon in 1961. He survived World War I as a brave soldier and had a long political career in Parliament before retiring.
