Government Drops Plan To Test Hot Dog Fat
The Agriculture Department shelved a year old plan to test fat content in super market hot dogs to see if firms meet the 30 percent limit. Plant sampling shows 98.2 percent compliance among 4,446 sausages surveyed in late 1970. Officials say the existing plant checks suffice and store sampling would not add much.
