In a tight Greater Miami League game Monroe edged Fenwick 65-63 as both teams traded leads. The victory sent Monroe to a key win in a bruising midseason rivalry.

Germantown rallies after halftime to defeat Twin Valley South 86 to 75 in the Dayton Suburban League. Larry McElfresh scores 32 for Germantown while Ron Flory leads Twin Valley South with 27.
Seven Mile high school powered past the Blue Jays 71 to 48 last night for a second win in six games. Burkhardt led with 7 points and balanced scoring from Hayes Belts and Fox helped overcome a late scare as seven Spartans played in uniform.
Loveland Ohio standout Jack McCoy a 6 foot 1 inch 190 pound back signed a football grant in aid with Eastern Kentucky University. He averaged 89 yards per carry last season and scored 137 points ranking seventh in Ohio.
National Basketball Association results show New York 119 beat San Francisco 117 while Boston 122 defeated Chicago 102. Cincinnati 125 edged Los Angeles 115, Detroit 119 topped Baltimore 118, and Philadelphia 125 narrowly defeated St. Louis 107.
