240 000 Iraqis to cast votes from U S
Washington officials said about 240000 Iraqis living in the United States will be eligible to vote in Iraq’s forthcoming election, in five American cities. Figures from the International Organization for Migration indicate up to a million overseas Iraqis in 14 countries could vote, with 13-14 million eligible inside Iraq. Final voting locations in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Nashville were not set. U N officials doubted the size of the overseas vote but accepted the Iraqi decision.
