Butler taxes likely to rise after reappraisal in Butler County
County Auditor Kay Rogers said most Butler County property owners will face higher property values in the upcoming triennial reappraisal, estimating value increases of 10 percent or more, while actual tax bills may rise only 3 to 4 percent unless new school levies are approved. The state mandated reappraisal aims to align values with market levels, though tax bills depend on levies and the tax system. The six year and third year interim reappraisals differ in how they assess property changes.
