Supreme Court to review Times libel appeal in Alabama case
The Supreme Court agreed to hear The Times and four ministers in a $500,000 libel judgment against the New York Times and Rev. Ralph Abernathy Fred L Shuttlesworth S S Seay Jr and J F Lowery. Sullivan Montgomery Police Commissioner sued over a March 29 1960 advertisement critical of racial demonstrations in Montgomery.
