Released time program halted for Southwest Local district
A Mercer County school district must end its released time religious instruction program by June 15. Judge Fred Cramer ordered the Southwest Local Board of Education to discontinue the program and a pupil placement plan that left three schools with Catholic students and one with mainly Protestant pupils. The ruling bars Catholic nuns from teaching in public schools. Separate note: Tuareg desert warriors are described as working in a French nuclear facility at In Ekker Niger.
