Taft Calls Truman Housing Plan Too Big
Senator Taft and Senator Flanders oppose President Truman’s plan for 1,000,000 public housing units in seven years as too large. Ellender leads a Democratic bill backing housing and slum clearance, costing about 18 billion dollars over 40 years, with private industry to build most homes.
