Savings Accounts Popular Last Year
Allen H Bechtel executive vice president of Citizens Savings and Loan Association says 1968 and 1969 saw savers move to stocks bonds and government securities but insured savings remained a strong option. He notes assets rose over 11 percent, dividend payments totaled 728855, and mortgage loans increased 1455087 with home purchases guiding 1971 prospects. Bechtel cites Federal Reserve easier money policy as spurring savings inflows and housing market growth. Citizens Branch on Breiel Boulevard shows steady volume gains.
