Episcopal Church ordains first woman priest in Indiana

The Rev Jacqueline Means aged 40 became the Episcopal Church's first woman priest in a 90 minute ceremony at All Saints Church Indianapolis. The ordination follows a September church decision to permit female priests, ending a 200 year male dominated era and signaling more women to enter the priesthood. Protesters outside the church voiced opposition during the service.

Carter differs with Ford on Puerto Rico statehood
