Rhodes Plan Limited For Ohio School Funding
Gov James A Rhodes proposed 693.5 million state funds for Ohio schools starting July 1, including 35 million to raise teacher pay. Education leaders say the budget is insufficient though it tops current two year funding by 113.3 million. They seek more and favor a penny sales tax hike to add 116 million yearly.
