Negro Shop-Ins Sway Bay Area Stores Sparks Friction

Stores faced losses from perishable spoilage while Berkeley students returned items. CORE paused shop-ins but kept picketing as the Baptist Ministers Union threatened to sever ties over the tactic. The controversy centered on alleged unfilled hiring promises and local community response.
