Bell tower planned for Western campus at Miami University
A $25,000 grant from the Molyneaux Foundation will fund a bell tower for the Western College area now part of Miami University. The I T Verdin Co designed and built the tower to house the refurbished Heath Chime along with three new bells, bringing the total to 14. The project, to be named The Molyneaux Western Tower, is on Peabody Green opposite Peabody Hall with completion aimed near June. Trustees invite alumnae and friends to match the grant to cover nearly $50,000 total and fund a Miami art museum acquisition also sought by the Alumnae Association. The chime’s storied history at Western College spans more than 40 years.
