Cave toll four saved three die in Indiana cave flood
Four Illinois men survived a 27 hour cave ordeal near Bloomington by eating candy bars and gum while three others died in another flooded cavern after heavy rain. Victims from Indianapolis were 19 year olds Terry Yokem and Kim Aldridge and 18 year old Marsha Bott. Rescuers found the stranded group as water rose chest high and moods and spirits stayed high despite danger.

Three die as bridge collapses into river near Siloam
In Siloam North Carolina a 300 foot steel span failed at about 10 p.m. Sunday sending vehicles into the Yadkin River. State Trooper Ed Dew said three people were killed two at home with the Atkinsons identified and Judy Needham of Pinnacle among the others. A 3 year old girl remained missing and ten others injured.
