Guidance Center Facilities To Be Used In Butler County Court
Butler County Common Pleas Court will use the Lower Miami Valley Guidance Center at Hamilton for certain criminal cases to examine defendants in sex cases for mental status before committing them to a hospital or penal institution. Dr Louis V Gould will conduct examinations at the county jail, avoiding trips to Lima State Hospital. One early case involves James Lairson, Hamilton, with a daughter of Lairson among key state's witnesses. The psychopathic clinic will handle these evaluations. serious cases may be moved to Lima for constant observation. The January term grand jury report shows six trials with five convictions. four defendants to the penitentiary, twelve to Mansfield Reformatory, four to jail, one to the psychopathic clinic, seven placed on probation. Reports are sent to law enforcement and probation checks will be made periodically.

Knife Wound Follows Dormitory Argument Between Teens
Two 19-year-old girls argued over clothing when a knife wound occurred. Jean Pitts of 619 West Ninth Ave was treated at Middletown Hospital in good condition for an abdominal wound. Mildred Mosley of Lost Creek Ky is in custody on an open charge. Detective James Davis said the two had ongoing disputes for two weeks. Police responded at 12:41 PM and Mosley was arrested at 3:20 PM. The blade was about one and a half inches.
