Cape Canaveral reports cautious optimism as NASA resumes the countdown for John Glenn’s Friendship 7 mission, with weather conditions uncertain and a midnight briefing planned to decide a possible Tuesday lift off.
Allied aircraft used the north Berlin corridor to counter renewed Soviet pressure on the Berlin routes. Transports flew deliberately below Soviet requested altitude for three hours while warning Soviet space reservations near 7,000 feet.
