Intruder may have slipped past police in Columbus killing
Police say an intruder scared away by a bedside burglar alarm at Ruth Schwob's home may still have been inside when officers arrived, then possibly slipped away to murder neighbor Mildred Dismukes Borom two blocks away. Beightler, World War II General, Dies at 85 in Ohio
Retired Army Gen. Robert S. Beightler died Sunday at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus at age 85. He led the 37th Division, a key Ohio National Guard unit, and helped recapture Manila. Burial planned in Marysville with services in Columbus. He is survived by his widow Claire, a son, and a daughter.
