Dayton nun killed in Brazil amid land struggle and threats
Friends and family describe Sister Stang as a joyful fireball and devoted missionary. The Brazilian land conflict involved Amazon farmers facing debt, loss of land documents, and cattle incursions by ranchers. Stang met with officials on threats before her murder, and her family hopes her work prompts action on rights and sustainable farming.
