Barton case hinge on witness Sycamore Hospital testimony
Key witness Henson testified about terms of release from a 1999 felony, saying he faced release in 67 days for theft of a Franklin church van shortly after early release. He denied telling cold case detectives of Barton’s and his own roles to aid the case, instead claiming to help prosecutors and ease family distress connected to a half brother’s involvement in Vickie Barton’s murder. The trial, with prosecutors and defense outlining motives and lack of concrete evidence, will continue next week.
