Judge Halts State Holiday Order In Ohio Ruling
Common Pleas Court Judge Dana F. Reynolds granted a permanent injunction against Gov James A Rhodes and state officials to stop enforcing a directive that required all state employees to work on Lincoln and Washington's birth days. The ruling cites payroll law definitions and argues the ten holidays should be observed as commemorative days, not working days. The decision labeled Krabach's order a publicity stunt and urged legislative change if ten holidays are not to be observed.
