Tunnel Bridge Being Sought For Route 25
Montgomery County Engineer Carl H Bauer presented a 20000 bid to the state highway department in Columbus for a Route 25 tunnel bridge at West Carrollton. He favors a tunneling design using two 80 foot metal pipes 11 feet in diameter to replace the collapsed span, arguing faster completion and chemical resistant water flow as tests show. He noted the state may prefer a traditional concrete structure, but believes the steel tunnel plan would satisfy the project by diverting water through the metal tubes and filling the old creek bed beneath.
