Middletown poised for 1968 construction growth despite 1967 dip
Building figures for 1968 will likely miss 1967 totals but not alarm. Middletown building inspector Fred Hampton notes tighter money may curb residential work while commercial projects rise. Projects include Middletown Hospital expansion, Crestview Nursing Home, Breiel area developments, and Towne Properties plans. Industrial and commercial permits totalled nearly 16 million in 1967 with 321 residential units remodeling across the city.
