South Korea Anticipates Strong Growth in 1968
Deputy Premier Park Choong Hoon predicts a 10 percent rise in gross national product for 1968 as South Korea targets average growth above 7 percent under the second five year plan. The government plans over 40 percent more tax revenue and about 300 million dollars in foreign aid and loans, with exports seen at roughly 470 million dollars. Inflation and price controls loom as risks, while calls for easier World Bank and IDA loans and expanded European financing accompany a shift away from Japanese funding.
