Cleveland plastic surgeon Dr. Clifford Kiehn adapts a hip replacement procedure to form jaw joints. The cemented device, used with possible hip bone grafts, has treated seven patients with good early results. Doctors note the jaw’s sliding motion and slow evaluation ahead with preoperative antibiotics recommended.
Two women identified as Odessa Goodman aged 22 and Jacqueline Otey aged 27, both residents of Dayton, were found stabbed dead. Police have not released further details and an investigation is ongoing.
Dayton police said a suspect is held in connection with the stabbing death of two women and an attempted drowning of one child. A 7 and a 4 year old boy were tossed into a concrete culvert by the Great Miami River. the older boy escaped and called for help while the younger was found crying downstream and treated for exposure.
U S District Judge John J Sirica tells jurors Nixon pardon should not affect deliberations in the Watergate cover up trial. The panel to decide guilt or innocence of five defendants follows 11 weeks of proceedings amid the scandal that led to Nixon's resignation. The grand jury previously named Nixon as an undisclosed co conspirator.
