Middletown Approves First Reading of New Utility Rates
Middletown city commissioners approved the first reading of an ordinance fixing rates for Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company. Overall the package shows a net decrease in electric costs and a rise in gas bills for residents, with two-year residential contracts and five-year street lighting and water pumping contracts. City Manager H W Starick called the plan fair and equitable and noted an expected annual electric savings of about $42,070 against a gas bill increase of $18,884.
