183 Navy Recruits Total Hero

Navy recruiter for Butler and Warren counties reports 183 men enlisted locally this year far above prior years. Jimmy Ray Barker, the only Middletown recruit sworn in locally, received 12 days leave before nine weeks of recruit training at San Diego. Barker is a 1952 Middletown High graduate formerly with Office Outfitters.
