Two Are Saved From Stern Of Broken Vessel
NORFOLK VA AP The two remaining crew members of an Argentine merchant tanker have been rescued and all personnel are accounted for. The Coast Guard said two seamen aboard the severed stern of the El Capitan were taken aboard the Agassiz at 8 50 am EST. The stern was located by the Cherokee close aboard at 8 am. The stern drifted about 30 miles from the rescue scene. Cherokees crew and Agassiz reached area last night but found nothing. Coast Guard planes from Elizabeth City NC to be deployed at dawn to aid search for the missing stern. Meanwhile the bow section still under tow by the tug was en route to Norfolk.
