Benefactor Remembers Three Lonely Christmases

J Vernon Harwell paid the air fare home for Vietnam veteran Tony Ray Davis from Cam Ranh Bay to Albuquerque for Christmas leave. Harwell, who plans to visit Hawai with family, invited Davis and provided funds so other NM servicemen could also join the two week holiday. Arctic Cold Wave Grips Nation With Widespread Snow

The Associated Press reports an arctic cold wave affecting 49 of 50 states with widespread snow. Seven Olathe Servicemen Come Home for Christmas

Seven Olathe servicemen returning from Vietnam arrived at Kansas City Municipal Airport at 11 55 p.m. after a community fund drive.
