Paul Getty III exits a Rome clinic where he was treated for shock and exhaustion after five months in captivity by kidnapers who severed one ear.
Terrance B. Norman, a former FBI informant tied to Kent State shootings, testified for three hours before the federal grand jury. Norman, now a Washington police officer, was among six witnesses as the panel recessed for holidays. A National Guard member accused him of firing first. Norman denies it, and police who recovered the gun support his denial.
Terry Strubbe of Cuyahoga Falls testified about a recording made from his dorm window showing gunfire at the campus scene. DOJ Civil Rights Division chief Pottinger said the investigation continues during a jury recess with next session set for Jan. 7. A note adds Canada holds about a quarter of the world’s freshwater.
