Battle of the Bulge recollections from Manteuffel’s view
The German commander describes the Ardennes fight as the battle of little men with isolated delays that slowed the advance. He notes Meuse setbacks at Bastogne and St. Vith, weather and supply failures, and a rapid Allied recovery aided by Ridgway and Patton. He acknowledges underestimating American resilience and notes the Russian push beginning January 12.
