Lebanon Florist Fire Blazes Through Mulford Nursery
Fire gutted a concrete block warehouse and a cement building at Mulford's City Beautiful Nursery on U.S. 42 in Lebanon. The owner estimated $250,000 in damages to buildings and contents, with 1,000 cases of poinsettias and other flowers destroyed. Fire officials said cause was unknown and arson was not being considered. The night watchman had not reported a fire at 3 a.m., aerial water lines helped suppress the blaze, and power and heat were restored later by electrical contractor George Leichty. Debris remained smoldering at 10 a.m. as crews probed for the cause.
