Sun power to run 19th century foundry office home
In Providence a 19th century foundry will become the headquarters of the Research and Design Institute. Solar panels wind and water turbines will supply power for the three story building and experiments test how limited supplies affect office energy use. The project aims to generate at least 60 percent of power and could make the institute nearly self sufficient as new systems are added.
