Christmas Plates Wise Investment in Collector’s Items Shown
Mrs. Howard Wilson told a Woman's Century Club audience at the Women's Center that Christmas plates began in Denmark over 75 years ago with Ring and Grandad in 1895 and Royal Copenhagen in 1908. She noted mold breaking on Christmas Eve makes plates collector items and cited plates from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, England, France, and Germany. She said plates sold in the year of production fetch 14 to 37.50 dollars, while older plates now bring hundreds, calling the Christmas plate a valuable and wise home asset. Mrs. William Kinney accompanied the presentation.
