India Warned By Peiping threatens invasion over border

Situation Unchanged Along Wall In Berlin Despite Fortifications

Berlin AP reports normal conditions along the Berlin Wall after new East German fortifications at seven crossings. East Germans completed walls and tank obstacles, withdrew hundreds of guarding troops, and a platoon of 30 U.S. infantry faced East German forces at Friedrichstrasse before withdrawing as Reds left. A 1,500-man U.S. battle group moved toward tense Berlin to replace another unit, crossing 110 miles of Red-ruled territory. Tass warned of dangerous consequences.

Anti Cuba Meeting Set by OAS Council

Washington AP Foreign ministers from American republics will meet next month to consider economic and political sanctions against Cuba's Communist government under Fidel Castro. The Jan 10 meeting, site to be designated, was called by the Organization of American States after a 14 to 2 vote on a Colombian resolution aimed at Cuba. Diplomatic circles call Monday's action among the most far reaching by the OAS.

The forecast calls for a low near 28 with blustery winds tonight and a warming trend to a high around 30 on Wednesday. Yesterday’s official high reached 66 and the overnight low was 32 today, with rainfall totaling .81 inches in the last 24 hours ending at 8.

JFK and Macmillan to meet in Bermuda on Berlin talks

President Kennedy and British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan plan a two day Bermuda conference December 21 and 22 to map final strategy for Berlin negotiations with the Soviet Union. They will also discuss disarmament talks and an international inspection system to curb nuclear testing, plus Britain joining the European Common Market and Western defense coordination. The talks come after Moscow rejected Kennedy's call for international control of West Berlin access routes.
