Grenade saves trapped GIs on Korean hill
Corporal Jerome Crevier of Toledo Ohio saved twelve wounded and trapped U S soldiers on a ridge south of Kunu along the Chongchon River by hurling a single grenade into the Chinese position. Private Richard Peck provided cover as Crevier crept forward to throw. The group later retreated to new positions and dug in despite mortar and enemy fire.

Ohio Teachers To Press For Salary Floor
Ohio educators plan a statewide minimum salary schedule and seek 200000 signatures for an initiated bill to be sent to the Legislature in January. The 29th annual Ohio Education Association meeting, starting December 14, will draw over 900 teachers and administrators. Plans call for $2400 starting pay for new teachers with four years of training, rising to $4000 with increases, plus funds for districts that cannot meet the minimum and aid for building and bus modernization. Harold J. Benjamin of the University of Maryland will speak at the December 15 banquet.
