Eastern storms lash nation with snow and crashes
A major winter storm battered the eastern half of the United States with heavy snow and high winds. A Trans World Airlines jet crashed in Virginia killing all 92 aboard while a chartered plane en route to Buffalo crashed near Stony Point New York three crewmen died.
