The Israeli military command reported nine incidents on the Egyptian and Syrian cease-fire lines Saturday and said guerrillas fired on Israeli troops near the Lebanese border.

Pioneer 10 Sends Surprising Jupiter Pictures

Pioneer 10 returned images of Jupiter described as the clearest yet by Dr Robert Nunamaker. The oval red spot near Jupiter's southern region is about 30 000 miles wide and 8 000 miles high. In the Middle East, Egyptian and Israeli forces exchanged fire near Ismailia and the Small Bitter Lake as cease fire talks stalled. Palestinian guerrillas claimed they killed or wounded 15 Israeli soldiers in an ambush near Zarit, while a Lebanese communique described a guerrilla attack on Israeli halftracks. Prime Minister Golda Meir suggested cease fire talks at Kilometer 101 are pointless, but a Geneva peace conference could still proceed on December 18.
