The 111th Ohio State Fair opened with Youth Day drawing a record 103,141 attendees, boosted by free entry for under-18s. Paid attendance was 17,141, down from last year. The first of 41 queens was named Junior Fair Queen Annette Johnson of Bucyrus who will compete in the Queen of Queens contest on September 3.
