Beef Up Expected Next Year as Poultry Pork Slip

Government experts say 1975 will bring more beef into American meals due to a growing cattle herd while chicken and pork output decline because higher feed and corn costs. Three Escaped Convicts Captured After Texas Rampage

In Stephenville Texas police cornered three escaped convicts after a four day rampage in central Texas. Richard Mangum was killed during the gunfight while Jerry Ulmer and Dalton Williams were arrested. Mangum died of multiple wounds. Ulmer sprained an ankle and was taken to the police station with Williams after surrender.

Fenwick principal injured in fall at Indiana cottage

Fenwick High School principal Father Stanley Neiheisel suffered multiple facial fractures after a Sunday fall at a Whitewater River area cottage in Indiana. He was reported in fair to serious condition and expected to miss at least four weeks of the new school year.

GM Boosts Prices Up To Fourteen Percent For 1975 Models

GM announced base prices for 1975, hiking most models up to 14.5 percent this fall. The Chevrolet Impala rises 10.3 percent, Vega sedans gain 11.8 percent, and the Cadillac Fleetwood four door limousine sits at 14,570 dollars. GM lists base prices, excluding options and shipping.

GM raises prices on 1975 models across lineup

GM announced price increases for its 1975 cars with an average rise of 416 dollars or 8.2 percent. The move follows a prior rollback and adds 2.8 percent more for options. Compact models show the largest gains, including the Nova at 3218 dollars, Ventura at 3306, and Omega at 3435.

Charles Lindbergh laid to rest in Hawaii graveyard

Charles A. Lindbergh, famed for the Spirit of St. Louis flight, is buried in a seaside Hawaii graveyard beside the Kipahulu Hawaiian Church with his widow Anne and one of his five children present. He died after cancer of the lymphatic system at age 72, eight days after arriving in Hawaii.
