Teen Mauled By Bear On Dude Ranch
In Missoula Montana a 13 year old girl Mary Kathy Lindsey of East Point Georgia was flown to a hospital after being mauled by a bear at a dude ranch on the south fork of the Flathead River. She suffered cuts to hands and head and was released after treatment. The attack occurred around 1 30 a m as guests slept in their bags. The bear wandered into the camp and was frightened off by flashlights.

Old Woman Dies in Mountain Home Bomb Scare
In Mount Pocono Pennsylvania a 70 year old woman died after she refused to leave her home during a bomb scare tied to a tank holding 30 000 gallons of propane gas. Firemen evacuated about 80 residents as a device was found under the tank. Army experts later called the device a dud and residents returned home.
