Washington AP reports the Defense Department presented a $100 million plan to provide annual protection for a nuclear readied safeguard. The plan aims to reassure senators and test ban treaty commitments under a limited program.
A bipartisan push supports ratification of the pending test ban with a U S readiness program including increased underground testing and a 200 million dollar two year outline. Dr Albert Schweitzer and a 11 member Science Advisory Committee endorsed the pact citing detection limits and security gains while Moscow criticized East Germany recognition.
President Kennedy gains backing from a blue ribbon panel of scientists and Nobel laureate Albert Schweitzer for Senate ratification of the limited nuclear test ban treaty. The advisory committee says larger warhead yields remain possible without new tests and notes the treaty would have only a minor effect on anti ballistic missile development.
In Split Yugoslavia Premier Khrushchev backs Tito style communism and a limited nuclear test ban treaty. He predicts Soviet production will surpass the United States by 1980 and reworks his bury you remark to say Western workers will bury capitalism by better organization.

General Lucius D. Clay, Kennedy, and Secretary Rusk condemned the House vote trimming overseas aid to 3.5 billion dollars. The measure followed a Republican push and a committee report urging tighter limits on the aid program, with Senate prospects uncertain.
Salem Ohio AP reports for a second day hidden money was uncovered at the minister's property. The latest haul includes a $20 gold piece, two silver dollars, an $8 gold piece, a $3 coin valued around $300, plus $10 and $20 gold certificates and about 200 pennies in a hollow tile container. The discovery follows earlier gold coins totaling $655 found at the razed shed site belonging to Rev Owen Glassburn of First Friends Church Alliance.
University students violated martial law in Saigon on Saturday in a pro Buddhist protest that upset officials who warned it could become a sensitive issue. Riot police arrested three Western reporters while leaflets denouncing President Ngo Dinh Diem and his brother Ngo Dinh Nhu circulated. The Youth Group for the Defense of Buddhism claimed responsibility. Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge said he would present credentials Monday to Diem’s government as turmoil continued in the anti Communist war.

Washington AP reports federal officials hope for peaceful school integration this fall as 120 districts plan to admit Negro and white students together. This marks the highest number since the immediate post 1954 ruling. prior years saw drops from 200 plus districts in 1956 to 46 then 31.
Willie Payne aged 38, father of eight, was slain at an East Side bar Saturday after he reprimanded a man for remarks toward a woman. Police said the shooter fled after the confrontation and the investigation continues.
Denver AP report details the death of 16-year-old Margaret Beck at Flying G Ranch Girl Scout camp near Deckers Colorado. Investigators found bruises and signs of possible sexual assault but no suspect. a man hunt and lie detector test of the caretaker yielded no leads as officials canceled remaining camp sessions.
