Springboro selects planner for new 13 acre park project
Springboro Parks and Recreation Board recommends Village Council authorize a contract with Richard Lawton of Lawton-Dunoch & Associates to draft a master plan for 13.11 acres of Springboro Community Park. Lawton would supervise three new hires funded by a CETA grant, with work starting Sept. 1. He brings extensive park experience including Yellow Springs and Kettering projects and has worked with Central State University and Springfield. Tentative park features include a picnic grove shelterhouse creekside work and south-line fencing. The board has about 2300 budgeted for planning and sees potential for future state or federal funding via Lawton.
