Dayton Air Board urged to set higher regional standards
Dr. Stanley Weissman of the Miami Valley Citizens for Clean Air Association urged the Ohio Air Pollution Control Board to set higher air quality standards for the six county Metropolitan Dayton area. He said the request aims for stricter limits though he expressed limited optimism. The board plans to decide by Sept. 13 under the 1967 Federal Clean Air Act after hearing testimony from about 250 attendees and 75 witnesses. Representative Charles W. Whalen urged national standards to avoid pollution havens nationwide.
