Well Planned Escape Attempt at Ohio Pen Ends Injuries
Three inmates attempted a coordinated escape from the Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus. Gerald Wolosyn fell about 40 feet during a climb from a fourth floor range. Walter Jankoski and James Myers were found hiding on gym roof catwalks after being spotted by a guard. The group carried makeshift weapons and tools, sourced from a prison shop, but the reinforced walls and ceiling thwarted the plan. Wolosyn, Jankoski, and Myers were all returned to cells following the failed breakout.
