Man Accused Of Slaying Clergyman Free On Bond
In Hayneville Alabama 55 year old part time deputy sheriff Thomas L Coleman was released on 12500 bond after being charged with murder and assault with intent to murder in the slaying of theology student Jonathan Daniels 27 and wounding Rev Richard Morrisree 26 a Chicago priest. Daniels and Morrisree were civil rights volunteers from Keene New Hampshire and Chicago respectively. Coleman turned himself in after an incident at a grocery store near the county courthouse. The Rev Morrisree remains hospitalized with abdominal wounds as doctors operate. Coleman comes from a prominent local family with former and current school officials among his relatives.
