Violence spreads as weapons from Syria reach Iraq
Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki warned that weapons and foreign fighters moving into Syria are now making their way into Iraq. He said weapons supplied to rebels have been smuggled to Iraq, intensifying a wave of violence across the country. The cross-border flow, along a porous border between Sunni and Shiite areas, has contributed to armed attacks mainly on markets and cafes, with more than 3,000 deaths in recent months.
