Plan for downtown building draws mixed zoning view
Montesi Smith LLC plans up to 19 artist spaces at the front and lofts in the rear of the former newspaper building after purchasing it from Cox Media Group Ohio. They aim to invest 1 million to 2 million dollars, despite staff concerns over heavy commercial zoning. A second proposal in the South End seeks a homeless shelter or veterans group home at 1314 Fairmount Ave to aid recovery, with three to five residents. The planning commission did not decide before press time.
