Recreation Lakes Planned In Dick's Creek Watershed
Ohio State Wildlife and Natural Resources reversed its opposition to lakes at four dams in the Dick's Creek watershed. Engineers say one to two recreational lakes are feasible, with survey work ahead. A September meeting of Butler and Warren counties commissioners will decide further steps, aiming for December draft completion and a February 1959 Congress submission. Construction would occur over several years to reduce farm runoff damage. A legal change to ditch law enabling joint county bonds awaits governor signature. Survey work continues near Monroe on Miller Creek and Dick's and Muddy Creek areas. State federal agencies reported no conflicts with other plans.
