Air Force Tests Start On 16-Ton Vertiplane X18
At Edwards AFB California the Air Force begins tests to determine if a 16 percent ton vertiplane can fly. The X18, the nation’s largest experimental vertiplane, arrived from Moffett AFB after completing nine percent of ground tests. Flight trials are scheduled for late fall. Hiller Aircraft Corp of Palo Alto built the aircraft.
Annexation petition seeks Middle Town Ohio city expansion
On July 17 1959 a petition by majority freeholders in Lemon Township Butler County Ohio requested annexation of a 17340 acre tract described by detailed metes and bounds to the city of Middletown Ohio. The board of county commissioners scheduled a hearing for Oct 6 1959 at 10 AM in Pointon Ohio with C H Sevier named as agent for petitioners Aug 6 13 20 27 Sept 3 10.
