Coroner rules Crowley death accidental in New Haven

Coroner James Corrigan said Joseph P. Crowley died from a deadly mix of liquor and sedatives. The 50 year old businessman and former Yale football star was alone at home when he died on his birthday. Corrigan noted seven sleeping pills and 8 to 10 drinks likely contributed, with toxicology not expected to alter the ruling. Crowley had been acquitted in Tokyo of assault charges related to a separate death.
